In brief
- Shamamoth M. wins among 311 duelists with Radiant Typhoon, in a list that ygoprodeck also labels Greed and Noble Knight. In the final he beats Duc Thang N. with Sky Striker. The names are the abbreviated ones from the source; for the two finalists and for Wladi Z., ygoprodeck shows the UN flag, the placeholder for "country not specified", and their profiles show only this result.
- A Top 8 with no dominant deck: eight different labels, Radiant Typhoon, Sky Striker, Artmage, Elfnote, Blitzclique, Angelechy, DoomZ and Power Patron. No Kewl Tune.
- Among the known names is Germany's Tim Gräfe, winner of the July European WCQ, in the semifinals with Artmage alongside Philip Weidinger (Elfnote).
The program
2027 season German OPEN in Advanced format in Kaiserslautern, with a cap of 624 duelists and entry with 5 packs (€35). Among the prizes Konami lists invitations and WQP points, without specifying the placings. The Konami event page lists the top cut as "N/A" and says the tournament ends after Swiss, but the tournament rules (Tournament Policy v2.5, September 2025, the latest version found) provide for a Top 8 for Tier 1 and 2 with roughly 33–2,048 participants, and ygoprodeck classifies the event as Tier 2 and publishes the winner, finalist, semifinalists and quarterfinalists. A Top 8 therefore most probably took place; number of rounds, scores and bracket are not published.
The standings

The meta
Radiant Typhoon wins, but it appears only once in the Top 8. Elfnote and Angelechy, which had three spots each in Houston, have one apiece here. Artmage, in the Power Patron version, reaches the semifinals with Gräfe. The picture is fragmented: eight labels for eight spots, and no Kewl Tune, banned in Advanced since September 21.
Familiar faces
- Tim Gräfe: won the 2026 European WCQ with Kewl Tune and finished in the top 32 at the Tokyo World Championships. After the Kaiserslautern semifinal, the next day he is runner-up at the Klein Rönnau WCQ Regional, again with Artmage.
- Philip Weidinger: Top 16 at the YCS Montreal in August with Kewl Tune, here he switches to Elfnote.
- Aqeel Mubarak (Switzerland): won the Swiss Open Bern 2025 with Vanquish Soul; at Kaiserslautern he reaches the Top 8 with Blitzclique.
